There are no porta-pottys in the desert!

Guy has to take a *beep* and he gets scolded by his officer that there are no porta-pottys in the desert..

end of the scene:

Guy has to guard a porta-potty... :S

What was idiotic about that scene was that the soldiers were NOT on survival training at the time. In survival training, you're not allowed to use creature comforts. Since they WERE in a base camp, one built to serve both Military and civilian technicians, he would be allowed to use the "latrine".

Also, the Sgt told him to use his hand as 'toilet paper'. Soldiers are ISSUED toilet paper as part of their gear when in the field.

This scene, much like 99% of the soldiers actions was just stupid. Telling someone to wipe their ass with their hand would have got the sargeant in trouble. Also, making someone stand in the hot sun with a rifle over their heads when he had to take a 5hit was just horrible script writing.
Just seemed like whoever wrote it, just watched Full Metal Jacket and Aliens, and was making that lame sargeant out of the two hard ass instructors/leaders in those films.

Right on. I think the writer drew all he knew about the military from BAD war movies (and some good ones). I was busting out laughing when they started singing a JODY when they were moving out to investigate suspicious circumstances. WTF? The desert is not immune from hostile forces. They could be squatters, drug smugglers, Zeta Cartel, Crazy survivalists, or simple punk trespassers. Yeesh :D

Me also. I was thinking they may as well have spray painted targets on themselves.
