Why isn't there going to be a third movie?

Well when I was watching the special features on THHE 2, Wes revealed Fox was interested in making a franchise. Because of the critical buzz and box office success by Horror film standards with the remake, the studio decided to fast-track a sequel. The second film received universally negative reviews and I am guessing a low intake at the box office. But over $37 million worldwide for a Horror movie these days is considered successful. The film also was a high success in DVD sales earning over $30 million. The film made $67,915,885 in both DVD and box office sales.

I think because of the sequel tanking in some way, I would imagine a third film would've been in-talks with the studio as one of maybe many Straight-to-DVD sequels. Maybe the considered sequel either was dropped because of the budget or lost interest.

You never know, a third movie could find its release in the near-future. But you never know.

Probably 'cause of the box office results and reviews. I would still like to see a 3rd though.

I Rep Young Money.

Part 2 was cheap grade A trash. Bad acting, bad script, bad plot. The onl;y reason to see this is if you want to laugh at how bad a film can be made. Now, the first Hills was excellent. True horror. This was like bad comedy.

I think they should have the third one about the bikers; maybe a prologue that shows the picture of the biker and his girl that is in the bag the old man at the gas station has in the first remake?

there is comic prequel, perhaps they can adapt that into a film

They should adapt the comic prequel into a film. I think it would work. Fox keeps making these Wrong Turn movies, so why not Hills Have Eyes: The Beginning or something?
