shareMy theory I believe is that the mutants no longer had use for the women. I believe in those conditions it's very unlikely that a woman would survive child birth after the first time. Not only would she have been beaten but she would have been raped multiple times until she showed obvious signs of pregnancy.
There is also no indication of what she was being fed. Most likely cooked human remains, or stolen food from the tourists they killed. After 9 months of trauma, you finally give birth and the baby is ripped from in between your legs, umbilical cord and all.
She is bleeding out and if she doesn't die by infections or malnourishment might not be able to give birth again right away. So they likely disposed of the women to get "fresh" ones.

I think what they meant by that was that she was in very bad condition.
She was malnourished, prone to infections, and just overall in terrible shape to continue being his baby-machine. Not to mention the mutant ripping the baby out would've likely caused severe vaginal tearing which would require some extensive stitching.
And for something like that she'd need medical supplies and attention, and these mutants weren't exactly in the know how or cared enough for what he saw as a mere "breeder".
Because it would be highly unlikely that a person placed in such horrible conditions would even be able to live long enough to carry a second child. They have no use for them after the baby is born, so they kill them and go hunting for another victim.

No, you all got it wrong. The father obviously lover her and when he saw that the baby wasnt his and that she has been sleeping with another mutant he killed her in anger. Later you see a scene when he cries for what he has done.
How do they plan on feeding the baby (assuming it is alive), by killing the mother she won't be able to breast feed. Do they have a supply of formula, another lactating female around? They don't strike me has people that would go to the store and purchase some.

How do we know it died? That scene happened to fast for me to analyze, I watched it on TV thus I didn't get any extra features that may have gave clues to that scene. My children didn't come out of my womb crying, but then they weren't covered in blood also. Really it wasn't that messy.

And let's not forget that these are stupid mutant hill people, and they are not exactly clever - since it didn't move or cry, he thought it was dead and killed the mother in a blind fit or rage.
