Human After All Sync with Electrorama

I know there is already a thread but I figured nobody would see this buried in the replies but I watched it one time through with the music synced up and here is what I got

-the title match up with the music in "Human After All"
-they zoom in near the license plate that says 'Human' during Human After All
-"Primetime of your life" fits with the driving
-the music escalades during "Robot Rock" when the guy with the newspaper stares
-there is clapping during "Robot Rock" and people are clapping at the wedding
-"Robot Rock" is playing while they are driving through town
-they are spraying steam during "Steam Machine"
-steam surrounds the face parts during "Steam Machine"
-the scene changes from the countdown right as the music picks up during end of -"steam machine"
-"Make Love" starts as soon as the hair gets put on and they start walking through the town as humans
-"The Brainwasher" starts up as soon as you see Daft Punk running away from mob
-"The Brainwasher" music kinda goes along with the marching from the mob and confusion from the 2 robots
-When he flushes his face it matches PERFECT with the end of "The Brainwasher"
-"On Off" is timed when he taking off the rest of his face
-the lights flickering in the bathroom pretty much match "Television Rules The Nation"
-Their head bobbing while walking along the train tracks also matches the beat of "television Rules The Nation"
-"Technologic" is played while they remember the room where they were turned into humans
-"Technologic" slows down right when the silver guy slows down during their walk in the desert and starts up when he starts walking
-"Emotion" just fits so well with the shots of the desert hills quite a few shot changes timed with music
-"Emotion" ends almost same time as the close up of the woman

Than what I did was just have the CD on loop and it still seemed to work

-"Human After All" plays while the silver robot its all depressed the lyrics start right as he slows down
-the lyrics of "Human After All" when it says "'Atcha' comin'" is timed perfect with the gold robot turning around
-its almost as they are having a conversation with the lyrics of "Human After All"
-"Human After All" peaks pretty much at the same time as he explodes
-"Primetime of Your Life" starts same time as they focus on the other robot and some scenes match with the music
-"Robot Rock" music matches some of the scene changes during his struggle to push this suicide button
-its quite a roboty scene, you see his circuit board and the song "Robot Rock: is playing
-"Steam Machine" plays while he is lighting his hand on fire and steam and fire and present
-"Steam Machine" ALMOST ends at the same time as he disappears
-"Make Love" starts up with the credits

So thats what I got out of 1 viewing with them synced up. If anyone cares to share your thoughts or what they saw that would be awesome

I would really like to know whether it was all planned to sync up like that or whether we are just reading too much into this.

Can't wait fo the DVD release, I hope it has the HAA audio track as well.

reply

I just synced the movie up and it freaking matched perfectly. The movie is so much more enjoyable! It actually adds so much more emotion to the picture.

You do know, that the lyric is "Flesh Uncovered," right? ...

I've always understood that the lyric was "Much in common"

I've always understood that the lyric was "Much in common"

Same, everything else really doesn't make that much sense.

reply

yea i unno where I cam up with Atcha coming lol

but yeah i can see where he comes from with Flesh Uncovered cause some lyrics sites do show it as that, I could've had the same problem with "atcha coming" but I think it is "Much in common" but it sounds like "match in cummun" with the distortion.

reply

and I think the lyrics are: 'machine-governed.'

reply

it would make sense, all the scenes were just too long, and it was so predictable. next scene, i catch myself saying to myslef "ok i got the point but i know its going to be thirty seconds longer" at every scene

reply

It is, in fact, "much in common". I understand a lot of people like to interpret what they hear differently, but what you personally hear in a song (especially with the vocals that distorted) is hardly grounds for an official source of information, from which you can correct other people. The official lyrics are out there, for those who know where to look.

reply

Atcha comin?

are you mental, its we are human, after all, flesh uncovered, after all.

reply

Err, no. It's "much in common". Don't try to correct people on here when you don't know what you're talking about.

reply

yeah because all of those make sense, just google it.

reply

just please google it, you have the power, don't be afraid to be poven wrong.

Also maybe check your facts before getting involved.

Peace

reply

when you say you synced them up did you just start playing both at the same time or did you start the music when the first frame of the movie shows up? I'd like to know when to start the music so that I can try this too. thanks.

reply

could you upload this version to the net be interesting to watch

reply

anyone try syncing up human after all during the silent parts?

reply

I just pressed play at the same time.
0:01 seconds of movie = 0:01 seconds of album.

reply

Hm, but as we may have different versions of Electroma, depending on where you got it, this may not work for everybody.
Electroma's official release date is 15th October, I really hope it has the HAA audio track, that would just be plain awesome.

reply

At what point exactly should one start the music? Is there a landmark, a title or something, to go by?

reply

well here is what i got when the first words appear on your screen my album was at about 5 seconds into Human After All

I saw some of the synced version - I think it could be they did plan it that way first, but then decided that it was too trivial, which it is... the soundtrack they finally used adds a layer of mysteriousness that helps the movie a lot (in an aestetic sense, not a commercial one)

It is true what has been said about the emotions.

E.G. in the scene when they walk through the city with the human heads on, with "make love" it really feels as if they had succeeded for a moment - as if the other robots would turn around and stare at them in a kind of awe because they look so amazing.
With the Curtis Mayfield piece they used in the final version, there is a feeling of tragedy and pain in that moment that makes the way the other robots look around already suspicious and creepy, as if they rejected them for looking "different" right away.

Since there is no dialoge, the music influences the meaning of the gestures we see to an enormous degree.
I think to make the soundtrack so mysterious and complex as it is was a good decision, it does reward seing the film multiple times - but it would have made the movie more intense if there would have been that little moment of triumph of them almost becoming human, before it all goes wrong....

P.S. the film is called 'electroma' not 'electrorama'
cheers - rp

Do you have the 74 minute version? I have the American version, which is 72 minutes including credits (I assume this is the "74 minute" version though?). It came in a silver case. Anyway, the second run through of "Steam Machine" was over about 3 minutes before the credits. The other things you mentioned were off too. The track times and DVD times just don't match.

Total track length (45:46) + first four tracks again (19:51) = 65:37, yet the credits start at 68:25. Things were noticeably off from your description by the bathroom scene, possibly earlier.

However, it still seemed to fit the first time around. The second time not so much:

*spoilers*

- "Human After All" began in the middle of the serene landscape shots -- didn't quite fit.
- The "Now. Live." part of "The Prime Time of Your Life" was playing as the silver robot blew up.
- "Robot Rock" started during the gold robot's vigil at the pile of parts.

Is there a different version of the CD?

I made a thread noting the obvious Pink Floyd/Wish you were here/Wizard of Oz/Burning man album cover connection. Its a burning robot at the end. They are clever but that is without doubt a distinctive clue for the audience, how many other albums are matched to films like this?

reply

while all the things you mentioned are "close" Nikral, they are from exact. And honestly i feel alot of it to be coincidental. its a cool idea, and i wanted it to be true too, but it wasn't the intention of the artists.

check out the comments from this interview...at the bottom.
