What is up with the movies they are spoofing?

I mean it goes from Snakes on a Plane to Nacho Libre to X-Men to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to The Lion the With and the Wardrobe to Click. These movies have NOTHING IN COMMON, in fact some of them were comedies to begin with. The only similarities I can see is that most of them came out in 2006. Plus I don't think I would consider any of the movies they are spoofing to be "Epics". I don't think these guys quite understand what a parody is.

Um, that's the joke. It's dadaism on screen. A rejection of cinema, rife with political satire while espousing many philosophical lessons.

This movie was well ahead of it's time. I expect that shortly it will be added to The Criterion Collection and be announced as having Historical Significance by the Library of Congress.

A simple, non-attentive watch would just say that they strung together a bunch of movies; a closer examination would reveal that they made a tapestry of pop culture and united them for a theme that was anti-war in nature. This is why rich, Republican film critics hate these films so much.
