The End of VHS and when this movie was made...

I saw this in a theater when it was first released in early '08, and to my surprise, absolutely loved this movie. However, I was a bit surprised, due to it's off-beat eccentricities, that it actually garnered as many good reviews as it did.

Okay, I found it interesting that this film basically coincided with the end of VHS. Since this film was released in early '08, it would've had to been made either the year before in '07 or maybe as far back as late '06. It just so happens that 2006 was the last year most companies/places were printing/carrying VHS.

So in the movie, you'll notice most of the titles are from YEARS before when this movie was made...LOL...and hence, not just the lack of finances, but the owner of the store will have a VERY hard time trying to replace his movies (unless of course he goes to Amazon/E-bay/etc.. and gets some used/previously owned copies). And forget getting any new releases past, say, 2006...??? LOL
