The biggest problem for this movie...

Was that the studio tried to sell it as some kind of middle of the road, lowest common denominator Adam Sandler type movie and as a consequence the wrong people went to watch it, the kind of people that don't really get alternative comedy or surrealism. The kind of people who are completely stumped by movies that don't have a defined point A to point B narrative, the kind of people that need everything spelled out. The kind of people responsible for the original theatrical cut of Blade Runner with the voice over.
