They should reboot Caprica with no Eric Stoltz

Seriously, how did this guy ever get into anything besides Mask?

reply

I have to disagree with you. I thought Stoltz was perfectly cast as Daniel Greystone. Actually, I thought the entire cast was great with the exception of Alessandra Torresani who I felt was just adequate for the role. She was nothing special.

As for a reboot of show, forget about it. It won't happen.

reply

Oh, I was under no illusion that it would actually happen. I still think they should though. We certainly all have our opinions about various actors. Mine about Eric Stoltz is that he sucks. Right up there with Richard Gere and Kevin Costner. But hey, that's me.

reply

Fair enough. I think it would be fair to say though that Caprica failed because it deviated too far from what made BSG such a hit.

reply

I would certainly agree with you there. That's why I dream of a reboot that will never be... the Caprica that should have been.

reply

I wish they hadn't stopped after a single season, that really bites considering how good everything was getting, though the virtual land element got a little old after a while--and there's no evidence of virtual land existing in Battlestar Galactica, or else half the crew would own one when off duty.

reply

All of Battlestar Galactica was set in a virtual land.

Daniel Graystone was the real world developer of that land, who his AI "angels" described as not liking being called God.

reply

A reboot of Caprica must definitely happen, but with almost no emphasis on religion. Religion killed the series.

reply

Nah, what killed it was the procurers over and over saying "this isn't Battlestar Galactica. If you're looking for BSG, don't watch" and people didn't. So they didn't give it a chance, and didn't see how good it was, particularly by the end of the season. I wish it had been given at least one more season.
