Spoilers! Firearms

There isn't, to my knowledge, any modern double action revolver that allows you to spin the cylinder once it is closed and locked.

The entire purpose of being locked is to ensure that the cylinder holding the bullet lines up perfectly with the barrel to allow for passage without altering the bullet trajectory.

Some older single action revolvers like the Colt Peacemaker allowed you to spin the cylinder if you moved the hammer to one of the 4 positions.

There wasn't a single action revolver among those used in the game.

So, everyone bitching the original is far better than is are idiots. If the original had the players using double action revolvers then it was as flawed and impossible as the remake.

As for 50 cent, how many of you realize he took 9 bullets and survived? For a while his nickname was "The Human Target". It's entirely fitting to have him this movie. In fact, it strikes me as an inside joke insult to the man.

As for 13 ditching the money then getting taken in handcuffs he'd have the lawsuit of the century for unlawful arrest and detainment. The first thing the cop said in the interrogation was "You're not under arrest Vincent."

You are correct that when "modern" double action revolvers are closed and locked the cylinder will not rotate. However, all one need do is pull back the hammer slightly and hold it there (as the players were doing). The cylinder at that point is not locked and will spin freely. Every double action revolver in my collection (including a S&W model 57, a 4th issue Colt Detective Special, a Taurus Tracker, and a Ruger GP100), all manufactured between 1982 & 2003, will do this.
