Why remove the boot heels?

Was it just a security measure to check for hidden mics?

And if so, it was a bad idea for"13" to mention it because it should have made the cop suspicious.

yes, to check for mics or tracking devices.

yes, it should have made the cop suspicious despite the kid's story of breaking them off from running hard. But it didn't because the script didn't make him suspicious.

Wishing that heroes, they truly exist (since 2000)

reply

Why in the world would it make the cop, or any cop whatsoever, suspicious? When people run fast and hard, the heels of shoes tend to fall off. The story was very legit so there's absolutely NO reason to be suspicious because of it.

I actually think it was quick of him to use the broken heels to try and support his story, but stupid of him to put the boots on the table in the cool manner that he did. The act itself was fine but I guess it's the way that the actor did it that sort of immediately made me think of him trying to push a lie. To be honest I'm not sure how you would do that naturally but I can only think it seemed unnatural and suspicious from the cop's (haha Batista) point of view.

reply

So, you're a Dexter fan, huh? Anyway, I can see what you mean about how he showed the cop the heels.

They do? That's news to me. I've run hard and fast in all kinds of shoes, even dress shoes, and their heels have never complained.

reply

How could that possibly be news to you? Shoe heels break off ALL the time, especially when you run fast and hard on them. I've even seen some break off myself in such circumstances.

ALL HAIL THE HIGH QUEEN!!!!!

On what kind of shoes would the heels break off, exactly? If shoe heels break off ALL the time, you've got some pretty lousy shoes.

reply

ALL kinds of shoes which have heels. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with how lousy the shoes are. It has EVERYTHING to do with how hard the shoes are used. You, apparently, just don't use your shoes often enough.

Then how come it has NEVER happened to me, and how come I haven't even HEARD of it happening to anyone else? I've worn out three pairs of military boots -- and they are sturdy. But I've never lost a heel.

reply

Then either you have just lied or you don't know very many people because it happens ALL the time. That is an incontrovertible fact.

Opinion is not fact. When I do a search for broken heels all I get is women's shoes, mainly stilettoes. And even THEY don't break "all the time". Until you come up with some form of evidence to support your position, I really don't see how you expect to convince me.

reply

I rarely make comments on these boards but for "one man army" to claim that heels fall off shoes ALLLLLLL THE TIME is laughable. I've worn 100's of shoes in my life and not a one has the heel ever fallen off, I've had rips, tears, holes but never has the heel fallen off and not only that I've never known anyone who complains about the heels of their shoes always falling off, you are just wrong about this one, and that scene in the movie was horrible but it fit in well with the rest of crap movie 2/10

Same here. I watched the original movie plenty of years ago, I caould barely remember it but when I was watching the remake today, the only thing I remembered clearly was that part... because it seemed so stupid to me. I have never lost a heel, and I never heard of noone who has.
