What is it with these rappers?

First off, I have to say, I'm a big rap fan. I like Dipset's music, I like Camron's music, etc.. I'm not a fan of 50 Cent but I think his movie was alright. However, this movie right here, it just garbage. What is it with these rappers? Why do you they feel the need to make a movie about 'their lives?' The funny part is none of them grew up that way. Everyone is trying to build a 'gangster' image, being isnt good enough anymore. In any case, the movie itself sucked big time. Everything about it ... dont waste your time on it.

if u was looking for an oscar-worthy film then u lost *beep*

It's not even about Oscar worthy its about dumb movies that have no point to anyone. I saw a clip of this movie and It was Camrom spitting on a little girls head and calling her a bitch...WHAT? Want to see it yourself, go to youtube and type Killa Season.

Exactly!

None of them grew up that way,so that must explain for example the 3 bullet holes 50 has or the 5 bullet holes that game has, not being cheeky or nothing just makin a point

I know plenty of people that got shot and were good, positive people doing righteous things in the community. You don't have to be gangster to get shot in the NYC (in regard to 50 Cents). I'm from Brooklyn, and I am also a positive, cool brother, and even I got shot at for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people. That's just the way things were at one time in the NYC. It doesn't prove that one is a gangster.

Hahahaha

First off its 50 cent not 50 cents.

If you were really from BK you would know about the real 50 from Fort Greene

And Cam only ran at Rucker Park because him and Jim Jones were outnumbered by Lil Cease's people. Too bad maino Maino knocked him and his manager out, then took his chain and watch so i guess he learned his lesson.

You sound stupid, duke. The only thing I regret right now is not finding your response sooner. Not only am I from Brooklyn, I grew up in Fort Greene. And I do know about the real 50 Cents from Fort Greene. Keep in mind, Supreme of the notorious Supreme team in 1980's Queens is from the Fort as well.

Hey listen, Being shot has nothing to do with anything. I am an Orthodox Jew who was hanging in Brooklyn and because of 2 fools down the block in an argument they started shooting and I got hit by a stray. I'm not a in a gang, drug dealer, or criminal in any manner yet I still got shot because of people who don't think about there actions or the consequences. I almost died but by the grace of g-d i am here to tell my story (Bullet hit my shoulder blade, deflected down went through my left lung and is still in my lower back to this day (Oh and it was a semi-auto which happened to jam after the first bullet went off, which hit me, he was arrested and is in jail for a LONG time). so think before you speak people, I know its hard to understand everything because if you haven't actually experienced certain things yourself you cannot form a subjective opinion about the matter. Well I ranted enough,Oh and yea I know cam (Got pics with me and him)so just wanted to throw that out there. AND I DON'T RAP , but my friend owns a record label and studios in NYC!)

It just seems really crazy to me, to see a movie that you know is written, directed & starring Cam'ron & actually have the nerve to be disappointed in the outcome. Cam is known for being cocky as is the entire Dipset crew. That's their claim to fame. For goodness sakes, the man took a bullet rather than give up his car!! Actually I believe that Cam is following in the footsteps of MasterP. Anyone remember a low budget film called Bout It? No it wasn't a great movie, it was actually quite funny for the most part. But when is everyone going to remember these folks are ENTERTAINERS? Their main objective? To uh, guess what... ENTERTAIN THE PUBLIC!!! I knew from the beginning that this wasn't a film to be grouped in any Oscar class & didn't expect any deep meaning or plot. I simply expected to be entertained. And whether it was the dope fiend shaking on the store floor or Cam's attempts @ crying, still the same I got exactly what I expected. So seriously, quit putting stock in a movie that is simply meant to entertain on a basic level.

no he's followin in the footsteps of dame dash dumbass

"I been saying it, I've been saying it for ten damn years Miguel, ain't I been saying it?"

reply

yea wat the man up there said it's straight entertainment, nothing else. most rappers that make movies like these have awful street cred i forgot bout cam's carjacking incident but before that there's a clip on youtube of him running away from a fight at rucker park haha, 50 cent isn't loved by the streets either any rapper that has to prove a point by saying they got shot before they made it is just straight stupid if you buy into it, they're entertainers, if they were gangsters before then that was their life let them do whatever. however I felt the movie was a fun watch -- nothing memorable.

I thought Cam'ron made a light hearted gangster comedy instead of trying to make an overly-serious, "semi-autobiographical" (AKA fabricated to make the stars look tough & cool), sob story ala 50 Cent or Eminem.

reply

I couldn't stand this movie either. Was it really suppose to be how Cameron's life was before he was a rapper? That's all this movie was about gunning young men down- just sad.

reply

cuz it's a bunch of *beep* doing the same thing they do on the regular...camron is a *beep* tho
