Thoroughly disapointing

Well, if I was a member of the wales family, I wouldn't have wanted to be involved either. Terible casting and even more terrible acting, badly supported by a poorly developed script. The only characters I found at all sympathetic were those of Mathew and his wife (Marika I think it's spelt). The actors who played the other Wales children and their spouses came across as cold, callous, judgemental and selfish. By the end of the movie I sincerely felt the Wales family had gotten what they deserved. I doubt this was actually the reality of the situation, I can't imagine anything worse to have to go through than knowing your brother murdered your mother, but thats really not what came across. Unless, of course, the producers wanted it that way......

Dude!!

What did you expect!?

It's a Channel 10 Australian tele-movie.

I was actually pleasantly surprised that they didn't take sides. Usually in these sorts of things, it's ridiculously one-sided. There's a goodie, a baddie, and that's it. For example, Lindy Chamberlain - Good. Dingo - Bad.

At least in this, they were all bad. It made for a refreshing change.

Teehheheheheee.

Seriously though, from what I remember hearing about the family, they were all a bit warped and nasty.

i thought this movie was very well done. i was a little disappointed that the main focus was on georgie parkers character though, i didnt think this was georgies best effort. i think that asher keddie was fantastic though. the actor who played mattew was terrible, even though he resembled the real mathew he played the part so bad. and i agree, the praying scene was done really well.

I've just watched this on DVD. I actually thought it was done well. I didn't really have any idea what the story was about so I guess I didn't go into it with any pre-conceived ideas. I have seen a lot worse Australian TV productions so this one is ok in my book.
