Whats John Dahl's beef against gay people?


There seems to be alot of anti-gay jibes in the movie, i'm not gay but i found the humour a little offensive (family guy 'snigger style'). At least in something like South Park it doesnt feel nasty (their humour is balanced). I dunno, i'm not sure of John Dahl's sexual orientation so maybe he's making fun of himself (who knows)...

Yes, I would agree, mxbic. It did not strike me as untoward at all in the context presented. I also felt that Luke Wilson's character was a fine depiction.

I didn't think it was nasty or anything. Why is it whenever there's a poke at a gay person/minority/whatever all of a sudden the director is homophobe or racist. If it is done mean-spiritedly or overboard then yes, maybe. But I didn't think that in this particuar movie.
