How did this get on the air?......

After watching this I believe John Lafia is the worst director I have ever experienced. His latest mistake, Firestorm: Last Stand at Yellowstone, is a slap in the face of quality. I had tivo'd this because I used to work in Yellowstone, and ended up fast forwarding through most of the second half...the cinematography makes you sick with the shakiness and all of the zooms in and out for every scene...most of the movie doesn't even make logical sense....I can see where the actors are actually doing a decent job with what they have to work with, but the script seems like it was written by somebody who not only has never been to Yellowstone (and only got their info from either maps or some brief reading online), and who has never graduated past middle school. The direction and cinematography rips apart any chance of a decent scene. The characters were cardboard cut-outs of inconsistent basic personality types with no research into the region, they flip-flopped throughout the show...I believe John Lafia should be banned from directing anything. That's my two cents worth.....and a waste of almost two hours...

This movie sucked. When I saw it was on A&E, I thought it would be a good disaster movie. This movie was worthy of being on SciFi. Only a notch above movies like Magma: Volcanic Disaster, which was so bad, I couldn't get past the first five minutes. This movie was as bad as Decent (which has the same plot as The Core). I couldn't believe how utterly bad this movie was. Even with a decent cast! It was awful. There was a movie with a similar plot called Superfire or something like that, and it has the exact same ending. I also cannot believe this movie made it to air on anything other than the SciFi network. I cannot believe I wasted my time watching this when it was pretty clear from the beginning how much it would inevitably suck. Thumbs WAYY down.

You know what, I'm not done ranting. The cinemetography sucked as you mention. I've noticed this type of handheld camera work being done on more and more shows lately, some successfully, some not. They're trying it out on All My Children and it's horrible. If you don't know how to make it look good or real, don't do it. Also, the special effects SUCKED! One person wrote a comment that said they were impressed by the special effects. I guess it doesn't take much to impress that person. The initial scene where the campers die was horrible. I expected sooo much better. I thought this movie might be based on a true story. Between that and the cast I was inclined to watch it, but oh, I soooo regret that. I hope this horrible movie never airs again. How could anyone get entertainment out of this? People must have really low standards...
