Favorite/Funniest Line

What was everyones favorite line from the movie? Mine was when he first got on air.

Petey: I'm a recovering alcoholic. Been sober for 5 hours. Some of my best friends are pimps and whores.

I was laughing so hard that I had trouble breathing. What really makes it so funny is when they show Martin Sheen's reaction.

FREDA: Oh my God he's a convict

Vernell: EX - convict!!!

and also

Vernell: Shut the F*&k up!!! I told you I'm coming up heer' to see me some Night Hawk!!!

Besides the sober five hours part, I love it when he always says, "Wake up, Goddamnit!"

"But y'know what? That's alright, you Sidney Poitier ass n....., I'm gonna get what's mine..."

For some reason I laughed really hard when Petey said, "What is it, free pussy day?"

And "Did he really just say blue blazes?"

"Ah, you've come to read my trousers!"

Petey: from when i was born, i have been good in P.O.P. pissing off people.. i have a Phd in P.O.P."

reply

"I've been HOODWINKED!"

Made even better by Cheadle's reaction to it.

Yes. Well summed up by Petey. Incidentally, RIP Marion Shepilov Barry. 😀

Awesome movie. I just wish they'd bothered to film some of it here in Washington instead of in Toronto!

Let me ask you something. You ever have someone eat your p*ssy. Funniest line of the whole movie next to Sidney Poiter-ass n*gga. I was crying laughing when he told her that. Not a line but his whole "I like your style Mr. Tibbs" accent was hilarious.

reply

The second time he gets on the air and screams "Wake up Godammit!" Scares the crap out of Martin Sheen, who was asleep near a speaker ! Too Funny !

reply

All of these are funny! It's hard to pick just one line, LOL. This was a great movie.

reply

When they were walking down the hall and he was mimicking Hughes...lmfao golf

There were so many great lines in this film. It's a shame they didn't include any extras on the DVD featuring Petey's actually radio show clips.

My favorite lines were:

Petey: "Did he just say blue blazes?" Something about the phrase always makes me laugh.

Petey, closing a long verbal fight with Dewey early in the film: "..and I'm gonna keep talkin' sh*t." Just the way he annunciated that last word had me laughing so hard.
