They used "George Kirks" scenario in battle... To train the up and coming cadets... including Kirk.

No, that wasn't the Kobayashi Maru simulation that Kirk and the others took. What happens in the beginning of the film basically explains how the Kelvin timeline was created and the circumstances of Chris Pine's birth.
