Black hole inconsistencies (Spoilers included)

In rewatching recently, I just felt there was an inconsistency with how they portrayed the black holes created by the red matter. In the opening scene black hole, they indicate that the black hole, created by the red matter, resulted in the Romulan ship (and Ambassador Spocks) being pulled into it which 'wormholed' them into the future. The black hole created by the red matter that destroys Vulcan, well..destroys Vulcan. It pulls it in and crushes it (as one would expect the intense gravity would do). So, comparing the two, how is it that the ship(s) were not simply crushed and destroyed. OR are there components of Vulcan that perhaps didn't get crushed and are now floating around 25 years later to be found in the next sequel :) Plot: The USS Enterprise and Spock, having received reports of pieces of Vulcan popping up in space 25 years after the event...arrive in time to identify and transport his mom as she appears, saving her life. Yeah, certainly a stretch but with the assumption that the gravity of a black hole doesn't always crush things (i.e. ships) and the coldness of space combined with unknown impact such an event WOULD have on a living being (since we have established it doesn't crush)..why not :)

Scientific (theory) explanation on the difference effects is appreciated. Flights of fancy ideas (outside of Winona Ryder running into Matthew McConaghey in the black hole heh) all welcome!
