The end of the message boards

I haven't been on this Board for a while.
But if any of people who remember the old days of this Board come by, I want to wish good luck to all the "Star Trek" Board regulars.
There were some good film discussions on this Board in the past.

How to figure out how to get and keep longterm internet movie discussions going? It won't be easy.
IMDb boards were some of the best designed I've seen on the web. (In some ways the best.)
And Facebook definitely will not be a good replacement or YouTube which is also poorly designed in terms of keeping track of comments.

Maybe another company will try to fill the void for movie buffs? We'll see.

Imo at least, BB ;-)

it is just in my opinion - imo - 🌈

Hello BB-15. Long gone are those starry days on the IMDB board. I remember you. You were civil in an uncivilized land. That was impressive. However, I also recall you were stubborn and closed minded and justified irrational character decisions when common sense would deter the story from the "writers'" inflexible path.

As I told you and others, the faults that I have with a movie doesn't mean you have to dislike it as I did, but to fail to acknowledge those faults as irrational or implausible only shows Ignorance to the facts. But then again, Ignorance is Strength, correct?

"You don't like Beethoven."

I heard he liked Prometheus.

reply

His fan fiction answers to Prometheus problems were "legendary", he literally could make up anything to try to paper over its flaws.

Shaw's Cross folding out to be a ladder wasn't one of his, was it?

reply

No, his worst one was when Shaw had her abdomen cut open and then stapled back together.

Everyone rightly pointed out a woman could barely stand up let alone walk and run, BB-15 posited that the cutting laser was also a "nano" laser and helped seal her back up and provided pain relief?!?!?!?!!!?

reply

Yeah, but future medical tech and stuff!

Like reanimation of a head via massive electrical shocks instead of microscope slides and x-ray and the like.

reply

Future tech is fine, crew full of idiots.....not so much

reply

But it's a masterpiece like Blade Runner!

People told me that and so it must be true.

reply

Ah yes. I do remember the Prometheus post. "Legendary" Ignorance. However, I also remember him downgrading his own score from a 10 down to a 9. It's a moment that perhaps I thought, there was a glimmer of hope to could break the Ignorance.
