hygiene

It's always kind of irritated me that in many period movies, the characters have perfectly clear complexions and clean hair, when the movie is supposed to take place in a time when people rarely bathed. I thought that this movie did a pretty good job of being realistic in that regard. Everytime I was grossed out by Moliere's stringy hair, I thought, the real Moliere probably only bathed a few times a year!

You should see "The Reckoning" about a medevial traveling troupe in England. They are up in a very cold barren area of England with muddy roads.

I especially dislike movies about Biblical times where everyone wears spotless white robes in the desert.
