Ryan's Sister

It should have been Amanda Tapping. That way, it would have bee a conplete "Stargate" cast, except for the dog.

reply

Um, she IS on Stargate Atlantis. She's a semi-regular. She's his sister in real life, sister in SGA, and sister in this film.

reply

Ryan is Paul's character, not David's. He's Patrick.

and yes, that would have worked to complete the Stargate cast

SOCK MONKEY!!!

ok,,just got done watching this movie again--very entertaining by the way--and was wondring,so who is this ryan's sis anyways? She looks very familier, did i see her in the last episode-idenity of stargate atlantis??
thanks,

reply

She never was on "Stargate".

reply

There is no "Stargate" (unless you're referring to the film, which none of these actors were in). There's Stargate SG1 and Atlantis.

reply

Thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard!

Stargate - The Motion Picture, SG-1, Atlantis and Universe are all considered to be the "Stargate-franchise", or in other words "Stargate" itself.

Saying that "there is no 'Stargate'" is just stupid, because even an idiot would understand what previous commentators meant, so please, don't play dumber than an idiot.

Way to completely miss the point I was making.
You see, the original poster realized that he didn't actually know what he was talking about (as his sister is a regular on Stargate, making it an all-Stargate cast).
But rather than just admitting he was wrong, he tried a dunce move like saying, "Oh, she was never on the original Stargate" (which is why he was putting it in quotation marks, to accentuate that he wasn't counting Stargate Atlantis). However, he forgot that the original Stargate was titled Stargate SG1.
I then called him out on it.

Then you came along and made yourself look like an equally large moron as him by calling me an idiot for trapping him in his own faulty argument.

Calm down.

i just watched a dogs breakfast for the first time. hilarious. anyways i also listened to the audio commentary and they said the chick who played ryans sis (her real name is amanda byram) was a host on a show called "the swan" and she also worked with david hewletts wife on entertainment tonight.
i hope that helps.

Yet you still fail to realize that they were talking about the actress who played the sister of Paul McGillion's character (who, by the way, has never acted in the Stargate-verse), and not Kate Hewlett.

Uh, Squeaky, you're the one who's wrong. Ryan is played by the actor who plays Dr. Becket in SGA. His sister shows up at the very end of the movie. She has never been in any SG episode of any series, so the poster who said "She was not on Stargate," made a correct statement, regardless of which version of SG they were referring to (though I would assume they meant the whole franchise).

Patrick is played by David Hewlett, who played Dr. McKay in SGA. HIS sister in this movie was indeed in SGA.

The OP, however, was not speaking Patrick's sister, but about Ryan's.

You should really all just agree that squeakytoad is a moron of the 33rd dan. One who knows moronic ways like few will ever learn.

Oh, and Amanda Byram who played Ryan's sister is a TV presenter in the UK, she's an Irish lass who presented Total Wipeout UK with Richard 'Hamster' Hammond. I was pretty shocked to see her pop up in a movie made by SG-Chums. Maybe she was shagging David Nykl or something?

I think Amanda Tapping may have been either busy with filming SG1 or would have been too expensive. I remember hearing that at the conventions that her signature was quite pricy.

They should of given Amanda Tapping the part of Mars the dog to make an SGC cast, now that would of been funny !
