SPOILER--why when they dance...

she has already broken Paco's heart a couple of times especially at their "wedding" when she tells him she just can't do it
but then when her favorite song plays she goes over to Paco and starts to flirt--and then when she does get him to dance, finds out that he is a really good dancer and filts with him some more
you could tell that he did not want to dance because he would be holding her and that would be so painful to him
he was such a good guy and she treated him like trash--I DID NOT like that side of her...

The way I saw it, she did the right thing by not marrying him. She didn't love him and that would be wrong. But I think that she realized she could love him if they got to know each other, which is why she decided to dance with him. She may have hurt him, but I think he understood that she was doing what she thought was best for everyone.

I kind of agree with this. Just because she didn't want to marry him right then, didn't mean that she wouldn't give him a chance. She knew he was a good guy, and wanted to get to know him better and see where their friendship/relationship would go. But she didn't want to marry him right then, for her citizenship, since she didn't actually love him (yet.)

Tengo el presentimiento de que empieza la accion...

Yea, I didn't have a great feeling about that, either. But here's what I think: Rosario is really unhappy and stressed out about being separated from her son. She can't enjoy herself at all (go out on a date with Paco or anything) because she's eaten up by guilt and worry. At the wedding she finally decides that she can't take it anymore and she's going to go back to Mexico. At this point, a weight is lifted off her shoulders and she can smile and laugh and relax. She goes over to Paco because... she feels bad about dumping him and wants to make it up to him? She figures "what the hell -- I might as well have some fun before I leave"? She's secretly had feelings for him all along but hasn't been able to drop her guard and really feel them until now? Well, I'm not sure. But I don't think she meant to be cruel.

Like her friend said, Rosario is a romantic. Paco came on too strong and approached marriage as a business deal. He's legal and she could be too if she married him. She broke off the marriage because it wouldn't be fair to him just like it wouldn't be fair to her. The dance was a nice gesture and that she did care about him as a friend. However, he was a little looser there, more fun and even a little sexier that Rosario could see him as a potential romantic partner.
