One of the best films I've ever seen

This is a must see. I can't believe that a few thought it was boring or sappy. It is beautiful and heartfelt with incredible acting. It is about love, bonding and the hardships of immigration. I can't wait for it to come out in the theatres so I can see it again, and I will buy it when it is released on video. Beautiful film. It's a tear jerker but not in a mushy, sappy way. It is about reality. It has all the components of a great film: synchronicity, irony, comical moments and tears.

I just saw the trailer last night when I went to watch Juno. I can't wait to see it!!

reply

"I want to find my mum!" Now that was a funny trailer.

reply

I saw the trailer when I went to see Juno too! :) And I went to see Juno twice and they showed it again.

Mermaid--sorry, but immigration doesn't entail this sort of hardship--if it's done through legal means.

Only if your rich enough to immigrate here legally. Have you seen the costs lately?

reply

i met someone who came here ilegally and paid about $3,000 for someone to help her and this was several years ago.

If this is one of the best films you've ever seen, then - I'm sorry - but you're a gad-dumb philistine. How many of the following "films" are also in your all-time top five?

>> My Big Fat Greek Wedding
>> Pay it Forward
>> Bruce Willis' The Kid
>> Selena
>> Pretty Woman

All of these movies are about love, bonding, community and transcendence. Doesn't mean they're worth a Sh*t.

reply

well some people will like the movie, some won't. no need to be rude.

reply

I have not seen this movie yet. I will probably make an effort to see it at some point over the weekend or next week.

I have to say this...this is a terrible title. It just is. Talk about a cliche, meaningless, boring title, this is it. Also, did anyone see this and Babel? Kind of reminds me of just one of the plotlines in Babel. I didn't really like the way they did that in Babel.

Anyway, if it's that good I'll go see it.

reply

The Mexican immigrants’ plotline in Babel was way too straight forward and simplistic. The story in this movie is a lot more intricate since it has a lot of turns and a great climax.

PS: Never mind the title, it's like judging a book by its cover.

What is your point? That you have a different opinion than someone else on what is a good movie? If that was it then I guess you made it.

Only idiots co-opt pithy little rejoinders from art house movies to stage ad hominem attacks against their intellectual masters.

Wow, my first message room spar. What a rush.

Completly and absolutely agree with u!! in all your words... and the best i think was the kid, Adrian Alonso ...he was awesome!! :]

reply

I agree with you. I've only watched this movie one time, but remember it vividly. The whole story of a mother searching for her son is a universal concept that everyone can understand and empathize with. And the actors were perfect.

I rated it a 10.
