Dr Douchebag Ruined It For Me

When Grant came back, it totally ruined the show for me. I hate that character, don't care for the actor, and was completely let down that he's the one who saved the town. Way to put a damper on things, writers.

Side note: Thanks, though, for reminding us all of how great Allison looks in her underwear.

reply

Disagree. Trevor Grant is the greatest character on the show. The only thing that could have been better would have been Stark, only because he would have wished Carter and Allison best wishes and would have accepted that he lost his girl to Jack.

And yes it was a good collection of half second clips from the previous episodes that summed up the last six years really well.

reply

I was hoping for Stark to make a comeback too. Actually, the bio printing plot would have been the perfect way for him to show up again.

I'll bet it was discussed, but Ed Quinn wouldn't go along with it.

They have been in a different timeline for 2 seasons - he could have simply been alive - ya think ?

They could have also brought back Kim Anderson (Henry's love interest at the beginning of the series).

All kinds of things they could have done since they were in a different timeline.

Change the timeline = Blank slate

reply

Everyone seems to missing the entire point of the time travel in the show. Using it as an incredibly immature and lame excuse to bring back people who died would have been the absolute worst writing possible and it would have entirely negated the gravity of the time travel in the first place, not to mention the fact that all problems in the last 2 seasons stem from the fact that the alternate timeline was so similar, yet different in crucial ways to the characters.

EPIC FAIL!!! The second I read Dr Douchebag I knew this thread was about Dr Grant as he was the only douche I could think of. He was annoying every single episode, worst character I would rather have wil weaton in an ep than him. Hated Dr Grant and his greasy/smarmy ways so gross, wish anyone else had saved the town.

I thought it was about Stark lmfao Gorgeous but hated him. He was a total jerk to Carter the whole time so it irritated me that Allison was going to remarry him.

reply

That's exactly how I felt about Stark. Somehow, though, I kind of missed him when he was gone. Recently I watched his last episode (from when he had been a regular) and although it's a great episode, it's tough to see him go.

Mag, Darling, you're being a bore.

reply

there's always something to b!tch about.

Trevor Grant is the greatest character on the show

this^^ (well next to stark and carter)

it was great seeing him back but i might be biased because i like james callis.

lol When you said, "Dr. Douchebag" I thought you were talking about Stark. To me HE was the worst character on the show.

Not sure what Grant did to warrant such hate, but some characters just get on pple's nerves I guess.

Maybe it's just because I like the actor, he's been in so many sci-fi shows I've liked, but Grant wasn't particularly annoying. A little full of himself but it wasn't terminal.

Just cuz u think my opinions r wrong doesn’t magically make ur’s right. Stupid trollz...

Grant is an excelelnt character! he is so old spice!

reply

But when you heard that Eureka had been bought, you had to know there was only one person it could have been, and I guessed it immediately.

reply

you did? I really thought anyone could have bought it... From Grant, through the Consortium to Eva Thorne to anyone else... I really miss Eva Thorne and I am sad the Consortium is still a mistery...

reply

Grant was a possibility , but I miss Eva too and was hoping she was the one to buy Eureka. I was banking on the Consortium to buy it through one of their secret members. I wish they could've gotten those 6 more weeks.

reply

Wasn't Grant one of the original members of the Consortium? If so, then in a way you got your wish -- and who knows how much he's working with them, now.

Since James Callis let it slip on twitter last year that he was going to be there during the filming of the finale, I immediately knew Grant bought GD. I thought it was a great way to end it.

Cheese fries...next time.

reply

I love Grant! That was one of the few things I actually did like about the finale.

reply

i should be a big fan -- the fact i dont even know who these characters are - says enuf - could never follow the point of the eps -- too much going on - ok, a bad accidental tech mishap "crosswires" 2 or more technologies, causing mayhem... got repetitive.

reply

why are you here?

Attention: you have just been hadoukened

reply

I agree.

reply

Finally! Someone agrees with me!

reply

You may not like the character, but it's a fact that Eureka wouldn't exist without him in the first place. So it actually makes perfect sense that he's the one that saves it.
