why didn't Ian flee to California?

he could have taken his girlfiend with him. He could manage his real estate, and he could not be extradited back to europe if is brother talked.

reply

Why wouldn't the US extradite him? He's not even an American citizen. They would have given him up immediately.

reply

Unless your a Billionaire chances are if your wanted for atleast questioning in a murder, you'd be taken back within six months.

if you saw Sidney Lumet's incredibly similar "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" film, released the same year as "Cassandra," you might recall that the more evil of the two plotting brothers plans to escape murder charges by fleeing the U.S., with his wife, to an extradition-safe country in South America (Brazil or Argentina...?) But Ian trying to do the same in California?! He would have just as much luck escaping to Liverpool.
