'Before the Devil Knows You're Dead' !

Can't believe the similarities between "Cassandra" and the Sidney Lumet film of bloody brotherly plotting named above, which was also released in 2007.

What do you think?

Lumet's film was much, much better. I am a big Woody Allen fan but this was just annoying.

Yeah. Cassandra`s Dream is like a pale imitation of Lumet`s last, great film. There isn`t really one single aspect about Stiffy`s movie that would even challenge BTDKYD; for the most readily apparent factor, PSHoffman & Hawke simply blow the Farrell-McGregor pairing right out of the water (much helped, no doubt, by Lumet giving the actors complex, nuanced characters to work with. Allen, as has become his custom, couldn`t care less).

P.S. Hoffman blows pretty much anybody out of the water.

As for the movies, BTDKYD was indeed superior to Cassandra's Dream, but not by that much in my opinion. CD's story was quite enthralling and i was drawn into it rather easily, which is seldom the case. I liked the writing and rhythm and the ending surprised me. Plus, Hayley Atwell was lovely.

The movie had its flaws, but all in all 7/10.
BTDKYD 9/10

I was more focused on the similarities between this movie and Woody's previous movies with similar plots. Also:

CASSANDRA'S DREAM: 6/10
B.T.D.K.Y.D.: 8/10

I like both a lot and wish more movies of similar style came out nowadays!
