Spoiler, possibly.Why Wasn't Michiel Arrested After Fleeing the Germans?

Perhaps I missed something. When Michiel and Jack were in the carriage, they hit a rock and the wheel came off. German soldiers started helping to replace the wheel and were joined by a Nazi sympathizer, who tipped off the Soldiers about Jack. So Michiel and Jack escape the pursuing soldiers. Why wasn't Michiel later arrested since he obviously was linked to Jack?
