Only thing I didn't like....(spoiler)

If you're going to shoot someone look them in the face when you do it, don't be a coward and shoot them in the back. Guess the kid was only able to shoot when he didn't have to look at his Uncles face but still didn't like that he shoot him in the back.

reply

not positive but it's possible that the kid can't look at faces and pull the trigger. they showed that w/the horse face, after injury

just a guess....

but if so, it shows that within his (face) limitation, he still did what was necessary, i.e. grow up

of course, the last shot of the movie shows he still had some of his childhood intact

Yeah - as a 14 year old I'd have been entirely comfortable shooting a close relative face-to-face.
So much braver sat at home tapping away on a fckg keyboard.

A coward? A 14 year old boy! He took the chance that the shot might be heard by the passing Germans. And we are talking about the death of a collaborator with the Nazi regime.

The only thing thing I didn't like was how they wrote the sister into a relationship, her role as a nurse fit, but I guess this country doesn't have a bunch of females crying about inequality.

I knew as soon as he brought her there would be a sex scene, or what they showed, and how dumb do they think females are? Why would she go cry to this random guy in a hole she patched up a few times, unless she was *beep* him the whole time.

Any girl that thinks her role was a stereotype is correct. Ruined the movie, read through the rest of film, kinda sucks b/c the twist seemed interesting.

His dad just got killed, and he had to shoot his uncle. Give the kid a break.
