Wouldn't it be more interesting...

if the British guy was not a schmuck. He was cheating on his gf, being condescending to other races. Wooing a girl away from jerks is a lot easier.
If the character was Hugh Grant or Colin Firth playing characters like they did in Love Actually, it would make a more interesting romantic comedy. Wouldn't it?

reply

maybe yes, but then it would have been unfair to the british guy cuz he would be actually in love with Kat and no be Mr. 3 divorces, it would eliminate the whole plot that "true love wins"

reply

I agree with the OP, it would've been a lot more interesting if "charlie brown" had been a more likable character and less of a schmuck. And for that matter, if all the britishers weren't portrayed as caricatures whose only purpose in the film was to mouth an anti-indian line.

Well I feel Charlie was not actually "cheating" on his gf....n all the Brits were not portrayed as snobs...i felt Charlie's parents were very believable, n they were actually considerate bout Jazz...

reply

thats true. charlie's dad was really sweet to jazz, when they were walking on the grounds and said to her to make sure.
