I liked the movie although many scenes were contrived (such as when Eva put the CD in her pocket and later find a CD player in her son's car)...

Anysay, I have one question as a person who doesn't live in the U.S.

Towards the end, Kirk says, "by law, I can't give you that card back" to Lefty. Why can't he? It didn't look like he thought it could've been a stolen card or anything.

Alot of places (at least around her) if a card gets declined more than 3 times or so, it needs to be taken and reported.
