I feel like Amanda Seyfried gets no praise here! I felt her character, acting, and singing out shined the whole cast including Streep. If Meryl never won an Oscar she wouldn't be praised for this movie so much. Don't get me wrong I love Meryl as much as the next person, I just find it unfair she gets all the praise from critics and fans alike.

shareAnyone who bleats that Meryl was good in this is an obsequious sheep. There's no arguing Meryl is a good actor, but there are 1000's of performers walking around the street in NY and LA with better singing ability than Streep. She was at best a mid alto with very little vocal ability and she was not capable of being a part of an Abba vocal ensemble at all. She was only cast in this for her name, and I guess that's ok, but screw her and she was a ham in this too. It really doesn't deserve a good review. I hate Hollywood.
shareI would wager she wasn't chosen FOR her vocal abilities, and in this effort not even necessarily for her acting chops. She was chosen for her star power. They wanted Meryl Streep and that's what they got. The name and the face that draws the crowds.
