Amanda Seyfried's singing

Is it just me, or was Amanda Seyfried by MILES the best singer in this? Yea sure, people like Meryl at least had even a little vocal ability, but Amanda was just above and beyond all else? It's a good thing we'll get to hear her again in Les Miserables, but I seriously think this girl should consider adding "singer" to her list of talents, or at least make an album or something! What do u guys think?

reply

I agree, she hit those high notes perfectly.

her voice is gorgeous, I would love to see her in a Brodway show.

reply

Indeed, Amanda has a very nice voice. She looked beautiful and yes, a Broadway show would be perfect for her.

reply

I'm not denying her talent, but as we saw in Les Miserables, she is a little shaky sometimes, and I think the reason she sounded so amazing in this movie was because everyone else was soooo much worse.

reply

If you are referring to the shakiness in her voice, I think that is what people like most about her voice. I know I do. I hope she does more musicals or at least come out with a CD.

reply

She almost Ruined Les Mis for me, so shrill.

reply

I thought she was pretty good, better than fair, in Les Mis.

reply

Eh. I could take her or leave her.

I think this is the episode of Three's Company where there is some kind of misunderstanding.

reply

I think it is just you (and a few others). Amanda has good possibilities but as a pure singer she isn't that good. I think with proper vocal training she could become pretty good.

Yes, I am a musician and a singer, and I do know the difference.

reply

I'm a singer and a musician, too, and I agree with TxMike. She has the raw talent but needs a lot of coaching.

I think Christine Baranski was the stand-out singer, though. Everyone else in the cast should stick to their day jobs.

reply

Amanda made the film for me. Her eyes radiated when she smiled and her youth was very strong as was her voice. Not too happy with Streeps' vocals but she was OK.

reply

Christine roots are on the NY stage in more musicals that I can think of. Meryl was very good. But, Amanda is my girl, we are from the same town and went to the same high school but not at the same time. She was 3 when I graduated.

reply

Her voice was really good in this, but surprisingly high and squeaky at times in Les Mis, possibly because she was trying too hard.

I'm surprised she hasn't already made an album. It might be due to the corruption and greed inherent in the music industry, but I doubt it. One can dream.

We all thought her singing was great

reply

Just loverly. Many more Musicals from Amanda, please.

(Streep, however, is a terrific singer.)
