I thought....

...that Crispin was not planning on ever releasing this film on DVD. I went on Netflix and, just for kicks and giggles, typed in "It is Fine!" and there it was!
Alright, it did say "DVD availability date unknown", but does that mean he changed his mind?

i would imagine that it means this movie is a popular search and they placed a marker for it stating there is no release information..... sort of think the last place crispin would want his movie available would be through netflix, even if he changes his mind someday i think he would self-release it.....

He hinted in an interview last year he's starting to "consider" a DVD release much later. But he's not EVER going to say anything until he finishes the 3rd film, tours it forever, and then tours the whole trilogy -- with the tagline "See the films again! THIS WILL BE YOUR LAST CHANCE!" (a la Disney... "it'll then go into the vault FOREVER" before 100000 special edition releases happen) -- and make tons of money from THAT. If he ever OFFICIALLY announces DVD's before then, his theory is that people will stay home and not go see his movies. Which is probably true, honestly, though people who see the 3rd film are likely fans of film 1 and 2, and there's not many people like that out there (though honestly, the 2nd one is way better than the 1st one, which I thought wasn't very good -- beyond how ridiculous it was, it didn't have a lot going for it). If the DVD's do come out, it'll be after every penny is squeezed out and then the Dvd's will come out for some ridiculous prices.

Netflix is insane, that's why it's on there. I had 500 saved films at one point -- before I realized torrents are where it's at -- and nearly all were "date unknown" because no date was ever announced, or "currently unavailable" because they're likely out of print films or Criterion films people stole to sell.

If a film hasn't been released to dvd or a film is out of print, how does this make Netflix "insane"?
I would think they can only carry what's available, correct?
But it's good news that you discovered how to illegally watch films. Nice job!
