No intimacy?

While I did love the movie (just got it from Blockbuster), I have to confess that I expected a little kiss at some point and time in the film. Maybe it's just all the anger from watching "As The World Turns" and not having seen Luke and Noah kiss for oh, forever, and now I almost get upset whenever gay couples don't kiss in TV and movies.
Anyway, had to get that off my chest. Still a good movie though, might buy it later.

Much agreed! I enjoyed the movie as well. Yet all the other couples (The brother and his wife and the mom and her boyfriend) showed some form of intimacy, except for the main character and his boyfriend. Hell, they didn't so much as give a peck to each other on the cheek. Excellent movie though!

Rockmond Dunbar has done another gay movie called Punks and he did kiss a man in that movie, so I don't think it had much to do him "being straight and not wanting to take the gay role too far". I guess that Maurice Jamal just didn't write a moment like that into the screenplay. Let's not read too much into and let's certainly not think it had something to do with Rockmond's personal sexual preference. He is an actor and I'm sure he would have done whatever the script called for if it was within reason.

Could be that the target audience is very socially conservative. Not everyone wants to see someone getting slobbed down in every movie or TV show.

I don't remember any of the couples in the movie kissing. That's OK by me. People can show affection and love without exchanging bodily fluids on screen.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

There actually WAS a kiss between the two men. It wasn't an on-the-lips kiss though. It was one of those "Hollywood" on the cheek things, just on the side of the mouth. It wasn't much, but you're right, there could've and should've been more.

Sister, when I've raised hell, you'll know it!

So I'm re-watching the movie now and
it's not a big, sexy kiss or anything but during the party scene, they kiss each other on the cheek.
And then when he was taking Gabriel back home, they start to kiss, see Gabriel watching through the window of the cab and just hug.

But I'm like you, too. I get heated when movie/tv-show gay couples don't kiss! so frustrating.
