Ewwww ? Unwatchable

The lead character was very annoying. He kept talking all uppidity and was suppose to be the protagonist ... I guess. Somebody must have over thought and added that african american man, plus articulate, plus organized equals successful and likeable. In this case, it equaled nerve racking. L. Devine is definately an asset to a movie with her reoccurringly similar act in each outting. I enjoyed her in First Sunday recently. I was so disappointed to see her in this, what seemed to be a 5 person play on BET recently. She was unable to carry the lame storyline. The film got too cutesy and the actor who played her son got on her character's nerves, but got on mine even more. I am kind of cool on her performances on shows like Boston Legal or Boston-Legal-like shows. When she is good she is really good, but in a less than avergae production, it doesn;t do her talent justice.

I disagree, I think that the uppity part of him was going to be brought down to Earth because of the circumstances. He used it as a wall to shield himself from what he was ashamed of--his family and their lack of refinement. Loretta Devine was perfectly cast and I think that the cycle was shown in her and Sheldon's issues

Also, the kid who played Gabe was great and if someone's not ready for a kid, don't you think that they'd get on your nerves too? I mean, here is this kid that you don't want claiming to be your son...mmmm, I wonder

But she and Jennifer Lewis were excellent, and the supporting cast was wonderful I can enjoy this movie over and over

agreed, I'm asian and love to try any kind of movie. But this movie, its solely made for African-American audience and I cant handle this one. Totally unwatchable from my point of view.
