I just don't know. What if she were just mentally ill and drove Renee insane along with her?? The whole plot with the psychologist suggested that maybe Lily had a behavioral disorder, but certainly she might not have been a demon. It would have been so much better if they added a church scene with Lily and all. I can think of so many scenes I would have put in.
shareThey flat out showed her demon side physically. Also, the little girl would not have the physical strength to knock down her bolted door. It would have been an interesting concept for a psychological thriller but I think they definitely portrayed her as a demon.

If she was just mentally ill how would you explain all the deaths? Doug only met with her a couple of times, he hardly spent enough time with her to be driven so insane that he would imagine wasps swarming his bathroom. And Mike barely spent any time with her at all.
shareSo you're saying that because she drowned in the end she wasn't a demon but a child? I don't buy it. She was shown to be a demon in the underwater sequence. The parents said she could only be killed by fire, but she escaped unharmed.

Are you kidding? It was made 100% clear that she was in fact a demon. She even showed her supernatural powers on several occasions!

The only way she would not be a demon would be if we talked to the writer/writers of this and the said something about a hidden personality disorder and shed behind-the-scenes light on this film. Only way, really. Because demon thing here is cut clear as white from black.

shareLMAO. Second thread I read of someone questioning something so obvious. This just shows how well did the girl acted and how well made this movie was.
I mean they showed her demon form at the end while Emily was drowning her. Later it's showed that she used a big strong arm to try to catch Emily while she was trying to reach the surface. That scene where she literally destroyes Emily's room door, no psichological thing here, she simply destroyed everything to get in the room. The way she changed her voice and her face.
But the little girl was so nice and so convincing at some moments that she managed to convince some of the AUDIENCE that she wasn't a demon. Damn, RESPECT to that demon. Some serious manipulative skills there.
