The sound in this film was up + down...

...First you have to turn the volume wayy up just to hear the dialogue, then they blast the stupid "action music" about 10x that level, so you have to turn it down so you won't disturb the neighbors, then you have to turn it up again to hear what the heck they're saying, then the lound music starts again...

Very up and down, it was very strange.

yeah.. it's pretty cliche with horror movies. Anything to get a "jump" from the audience, or "put the audience at the edge of their seats".. i usually watch this genre while running/walking on the treadmill. and yeah, i used to have to get off the damn thing to turn up the volume for dialogue, and turn it down on the "suspense" or "action" scenes..

then i discovered the subtitle button. and have been using it ever since.

some days, it's not worth chewing through the restraints..

reply

Yah, but not all actions are like that where you have to turn it up and down. I just watched this and turned on the subtitles just so I don't blast away the room when the action stuff came on.

reply

Yeah.

reply

Ya, I agree, the dialog was too low, so you turn it way up, but then the other sounds are way too loud... badly made audio engineering.

I agree. The scene where Emily visits the dad in the mental hospital was damn near impossible to hear!
I wish I'd had subtitles.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."
