Isabelle Furhman should've been casted as Lillith over Jodelle Ferland

I like Furham but I think Jodelle did a great job and am glad she got the role over Furham

i prefer Jodelle. she just has that sort of blank mischievous expression about her. where ur not sure if shes gonna be just a silent plain girl or a evil mean kid.
yes Isabelle would have played it with more character and inflection, but i dont think thats how this part was intended.
in the alternate footage, u see Jodelle as this haunted little girl whos just plain scared of this demonic entity coming after. had the film itself been that way, then the character would have come off more sympathetic.


as for the casting...well could have been the age difference. Jodelle was 12. while Isabelle was only 9. so maybe they needed someone closer to a young teen than someone who can still be considered too innocent an age to come off as threatening.

I don't think Ferland is the problem here; it's the fact that it's a medicore film all round. Even good actors sometimes give lousy performances when they feel uninspired or aren't having a good experience (see Rooney Mara in A Nightmare on Elm Street).

Not that Orphan was great, but it was a lot more fun than this.

I dunno when directors are ever going to learn. Well, some get it that is why we sometimes get horribly funny horror movies. Here is the thing if the script is awful you play it for laughs. The director obviously had the actors and actresses play it like this was the Omen either Omen movie the first or the remake. It's not, the script would have played better as a comedy. So, an actress with more range, nope.
