I agree. Jordan Metcalfe is this show's only redeeming feature but why he chose to be part of it is beyond me. The other actors are all shocking, especially that blonde girl, she's terrible. I don't usually make posts on IMDb saying how bad something is but this show well and truly deserves it. Good grief. Everything about it is crap, with the one aforementioned exception.

Dear Diary; still on the bloody island. Today I swallowed a bug.

It's supposed to be pantomime acting. It's aimed at small children. I don't think the acting is bad, it's just a bit large which is more than likely down to the directors of the show.

Nothing's wrong with pantomime acting.

It's not bad, but maybe a little bit overdone.
At first I thought it was american or austrialian actors putting on english accents . I had to check on here to confirm they were actually british actors!

Totally agree! I'm absolutely awful in this show! I should never be allowed in front of a camera again! I blame my agent for putting me up for the show in the first place! HA hA hA HA! This show is aimed at the 8 to 12 demographic. 8!! TO 12!!!! GEDDIT???!! EIGHT TO TWELVE! There is no irony, nothing post-modern and a lot of cheeeeeeeeese!!!! on purpose. It's the style. But, yes! Please blame the directors... not us!! xxx

of course its pantomine acting its got a genie in it....
the acting looks poor but its over done for its target audience, which aint men looking at the 2 girls but kids 5-11.

Yes, I agree. I don't normally go bashing shows or movies, but I'm appalled how cheap this all looks: kindergarten-type mugging for acting, evenly lit sound stages with a few random plastic props for sets (no exotic or mysterious atmosphere at all) and extremely cheap and fake-looking digital effects pasted in for what can't be achieved realistically.

I know it's for a 6-11 demographic or around it, but you don't have to talk down to kids like that and feed them cheap stuff because they will swallow anything.

And it's not like this is from some 3rd world country, because its production company has lots and lots of money and resources to improve on this.

Actually, the UK can do a lot better than this.

Just look at countless European children's series and movies for the same ages, like from Scandinavia, Germany, Holland or France (and UK too), or some from Australia, and you will see interesting and a bit challenging subject matter, great casting and acting, real (or real-looking) locations, beautifully created, atmospheric shots and intelligent, believable dialogue.

It's become well known that Nickelodeon's golden rule nowadays is that, in a preview panel, any 6-year-old should completely get what's being shown, otherwise it's redone. This is what I call dumbing down kids.
