I don't think it's an issue of people thinking they're better for not liking a show. Actually, in my experience whenever someone dares to pipe up that something might be a stupid show/movie usually the opposite happens. Usually it's the legions of fanboys that show up like someone just pissed on the bones of Mohammed or something and they usually take the attitude that they are superior for liking it.
Sometimes these things are brilliant. Sometimes they have a subtle, misunderstood brilliance. Sometimes they just need to grow on you. Then, there's just genuine crap. The problem with something that's genuine crap is that the diehard fans can't accept it and generally treat it like its one of the former three. I can live with people who think that something I don't like is brilliant. The people that insist it will grow on you also don't bother me because they're easily disarmed. The ones who annoy me the most are the "you just don't get it crowd." These are the a$$holes who really have the problem with thinking they're better than everyone else, and no matter how crappy what you're watching is, you'll uncover some of them.
Right out of the gate, Assy McGee was a bad idea for a show. Ass jokes have been overdone, it's just animated Jim Carrey jokes. They don't really run anywhere with the joke, save for the occasional fart noise when Assy is out of breath. Beyond that a lot of the humor is just recycled Adult Swim shock-value jokes. The only real new aspect to it is that an animated walking ass is doing them. I don't know, I just get the feeling that Adult Swim didn't try with this one. It's a big disappointment. Oh well, it's on seldom enough that I don't have to worry about it, and Metalacalypse seems to be winning the acclaim it deserves, so I can't complain with the end results I suppose.
Consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.
