A great film...go rent it.

I'm not surprised at the lack of feedback regarding this film, it's almost impossible to learn about other than word-of-mouth. Except I stumbled upon it while searching the foreign film section at Blockbuster (I was in the mood for something French;) and I'm SO glad I took a chance. I enjoyed it greatly and highly recommend it.

Absolutely great! A gentle satire, poking fun at certain ideas and ideals but also understanding of them. Seen thru the eyes of little Anna, the world of leftist activism seemed strange and a great inconvenience. (Mickey Mouse is a fascist?) But towards the end, she begins to understand and sympathize with her parents' views. Her reactions to things are hilarious and touching at the same time. Her debate with the nun about a children's fable is also hilarious. But what I kept thinking was, just try to make a comedy in America about communism and abortion, and see what would happen - protests, boycotts, outrage! I'm thankful to Sundance for showing it.
