Nina Kervel's performance trumped all other actors!

They couldn't cast this role on any other child actress that could do a better job than Nina Kervel.

Her emotional reactions on camera are so realistic ou can feel her anger at times.

How well she portrays her reactions to the lack of comprehension of her parents' immaturity.

How well she plays the role of the grown up in her home when her parents go red crazy as the Cuban nanny admonished.

The best part is when she asks her dad the difference between solidarity and the "borreguisme", or sheep conduct. She is so much smarter than they are.

I really enjoyed this movie a lot, I hope you see it too. In my all time best list.

Yes, I agree, Nina Kervel was excellent in this movie and made it so enjoyable to watch. I am sadden to see she has not been in anything else. She is 12 now and I guess that there is either a lot of competition for roles or there are few roles for actresses of her age available.

I just saw the movie, and was stunned by her performance. Tatum O'Neal was the same age when she won her Oscar for "Paper Moon," and I thought Nina Kervel's overall performance was better.

BAD child actors are one of my biggest pet peeves---they can ruin a movie faster than anything else, in my opinion---so I'm always elated to see kids who give outstanding performances. Nina was phenomenal in this, and I thought the little boy who played her brother was always very realistic also (given that he had much less responsibility).

Her?

The little brother did a great job too. Wasn't even able to read yet, according to the extra features.
