I'd like the true meaning of the title of this film.
I know that Ensemble means together and c'est tout, in its literal meaning means It's all. But with regrds to the context of this film, it must mean more than these simple words.
Seeing that the film centres on relationships, I'm reading it as
"Together, finally!"
Is this the true meaning?

It's something like: "Together... That's all"
"Together, it's everything" makes more sense - it means like "we need to be together, it's the only thing we have left" I think.

Inspiring isn't it? It would be funny but US publishers seem to change every last title from Europe (even those already written in English). I think they do it to have a little bit of control over the creative process (as they have no culture of their own - ouch!).
It's because A-Hole American movie weasels show film titles to groups of ne'er do wells who hang out in malls in the middle of the week and based on their reactions, they changes names etc...

You're right it meams "simply together". Just to live together, that's all they need.
"Ensemble, c'est tout" is an actual quote from the book when everyone lives together and they realize that's all they always needed.
in sweden the titel is translated into "together, you're less alone"....they kinda went a little nuts, if it reallys just says, togheter....

It´s not too clever, but way better than "Hunting and Gathering".. :o)
BTW: Read the book! It´s really good.
I think the English tranalation is the worst one, at least the Swedish/German titles come close to the original title. What are they supposed to be hunting, love? And gathering companionship, warmth?

IN Germany the title is also "together you're less alone".
Personally I would translate the title as "Together, that's all / that's enough"
