I always thought Judas did exactly what he was supposed to


Somewhere back in my early Christian upbringing (Sunday school perhaps), I always thought Judas did exactly what he was supposed to. When I read Dante's inferno and Judas is placed in the very centre of hell, I though that was very unfair because without Judas, the crucificion might not have occured that day and who know what other things would have gone wrong.

So in watching this show I kept thinking big deal. Why is it such a revelation that Judas did what he was supposed to do?

Nobody knows really what Christianity was in the early days considering that other gospels have come out recently like that from Judas,Thomas,Philip and Mary Magdalene.

Yes I agree, but information influences what we believe. When a person's name can cast shadows on a race of people it is overwhelmingly unfair.
