Nice movie,but...
...they could have cut some of the "Ghost mother" sequences off the film.They just didn't feel right..

Agreed. This film would have been fantastic without those. Unfortunately, with those in, it felt like Winterbottom had one foot in the drama pool, and the other foot in the ghost story pool, not really committing to either. And it made the last 30 minutes rather sloppy. Fantastic first hour though.

shareI don't really agree with the "Ghost story" point. This is not a ghost in the typical fantasy fashion, it is just a vision the girl is having (nothing so unreal).
It's a good way to show what's going on in the girl's mind, but I never had the impression they pretended to show the existence of this "presence" anywhere outside her head, like a ghost movie would do.
