Perla is a force

This kid has the chops, I'd wager she has quite a career ahead of her. She was definitely the stand-out in this tepid, contrived funeral march. Only did she keep me interested as the storyteller-- with a detached dad and a sister whose character could arguably have been written out. I look forward to seeing her next film. Who's with me on this?!

Yes, she was very good in this. I don't agree about the dad, I saw him as a caring, loving father who was doing his best for the girls while dealing with his own grief. Not an easy thing to do. I did think it would have been better if there had been a little more communication between them, at least between Mary and her dad. I kept thinking she was going to tell him that her mother was "visiting" her but don't think she ever did. She did confide in Barbara, also told her of her guilt feelings in causing the accident. I wondered why Barbara didn't relay the little girl's concerns to the dad? All she said was that maybe she should have counseling... I found that too vague. The film wasn't very satisfying to me.
