Back Up **Spoilers**

OK I marked the topic spoilers so do nto get pissy with me if you have
not seen the movie.:) Onto my thoughts.

Alright, what happened to his backup? "You missed the last 2 phone calls."
we hear him say, so if my friend came up to me and said"

"Hey I am gonna try and prove this mirror is possessed and that it made
my dad kill my mom and himself. Would you mind checking up on me ever hour on the
hour and make sure I do not go crazy to?" Well first off I would think "you are already there chief", but I degress.

Anyway then he started acting all freaky and missing phone calls I think I
might go check on him.

I know there are several reasons why this failed among them: the mirror
was screwing with time; what we are seeing is Tim's version of reality
not what actually happened; and maybe even something as pedestrian as his
friends car broke down on the way over there.

I also think this could tie into the story Tim told about the lady that broke all he bones with a hammer. Supposedly the neigbors heard her screeming for three days before they called the police. that seems rather odd to me.

I was just wondering what other people thought.

Wow, old post :) Not sure if you'll ever come back to this, but I'll answer anyway: the version of this that I watched came with 3 deleted scenes:

**SPOILERS**

The third scene included "Steve" (the backup friend) checking up on Tim after the ending of the story. He enters the room, which is dark. Tim is seated on the ground in front of the mirror in a semi-comatose, seizure-like state. Initially Steve believes him to be high on drugs but as he approaches and faces the mirror, he sees that behind Tim's reflection there sits a bleeding, pale, naked man (presumably Tim's father) The apparition glances up at Steve, who falls backwards against the wall behind Tim. Tim then collapses (presumably dead) and a tiny, insane smile slowly builds on Steve's face (as it appears the mirror is now beginning to affect him as well) The scene then fades to black.

Considering Steve was the only one who knew what Tim was really doing (and on the presumption that the mirror can affect the video/audio feeds and distort them), it stands that upon finding their bodies (if they end up being found at all) there is nothing to link the mirror to what happened to them. And so it will be passed on to the next unfortunate victim!
