It seems that 3 might be worse.

I know that everyone seems to think that Battlefield 3 is going to be the best game ever, yada yada yada, but the more I hear about the game, the more I feel that they're making mistakes.
I haven't played it yet, but rom stories that I've seen on the web, it looks like Battlefield 3's campaign is less open like Bad Company, and more Call of Duty-ish. This is one of the worst things that a Battlefield fan could possibly hear, and the worst thing for someone who hates Call of Duty like me.
Secondly, the commander position is gone. I almost cried when I heard this. The commander ability was probably my favourite thing about Battlefield 2, and it is gone. No longer can you command your loyal (most of the time) squads and give them radar, supplies and jeeps when required. I find this to be most disappointing, in fact, there's not even ordering around your squad mates if your the leader anymore.
Thirdly, it has no freaking main menu. I mean seriously, this Battlelog thing is out of hand. Personally, I'm not down with the idea of launching my game in a web browser and starting matches from there, now we can't have an epic main menu with kick-ass music and video.
Finally, all humour has been eradicated. I know that it's idea is to be a serious and realistic war game, but I always loved the nice little jokes in Battlefield. Like in Vietnam, when you could have Ride of the Valkyries or Surfin' Bird playing in your scooter, or the fact that the USMC in Battlefield 2 had peace sign buttons on them (Full Metal Jacket reference).
Anyway, when I finally play it, it may be better than this, but I have a feeling it may disappoint.
And now, for my final comment, all these disappointments are the fault of the game being on consoles. PEACE
