I just finished watching the series and was left ver confused. Not about the final episode (which, however, looked like a mix of 2 or 3 episoded), but beacuse of the fact, that there were some characters in the 1st episode, that were gone right after the pilot. I;m taling about the mayor, his third wife and his daughter Michelle, who thanked Jonhy for removing her 'new kid' status. Why they were introduced if they were never back????

shareShe's only in the Pilot. A pilot episode is submitted to the network to see if they'll pick it up. Then they make changes and start the series if they decide to pick it up. Most of the adults were removed from the series and Michelle was also taken out.

it's also because her character switched over to The Nine show on nbc which i think got cancelled too

They could have been interesting, and I prefer Michelle (Dana Davis) than Nikki (Tessa Thompson). Much more.
Anyway, it seems they did the pilot and the writers decided to go in another direction with the show.
You know who else was only in one episode, and I was disappointed they never brought back? The rat pack singer in the country club fundraiser scene in "Ghosts." I thought that guy rocked!
Just kidding. I wouldn't do that again for 10x the money. 14 hours of standing around, waiting for my scene, they film for about half an hour, I sing two songs, they cut one completely, the other is shown for about five seconds....and they spell my name wrong in the credits.
Worth doing once in a lifetime, but not again.
