Why was this show canceled?

I really enjoyed the series. It was different, with it's mistery solving plot. not just another show about rich people.

It was one of CW's first shows.The early shows were canceled because the ratings were terrible.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

Yes, it was one of my faves - and still is. CW was new back in the day, and the marketing team made a pretty bad move to air the show during the summer - summer shows don't normally gain a lot of viewers. Given the circumstances, they shouldn't have pulled it off like that.

I think it was an awful show. I've seen the whole season and it wasn't very good, but I haven't liked anything created by Kevin Williamson since Dawson's Creek... so typical, no originality at all.

I think that was the reason it was cancelled. It wasn't good enough.

I still think they should had given it at least 1 more season. They tried pulling the plug on saved by the bell, but gave it another go and was a big hit and still enjoyable to watch after 20+ years
