what is the background for this game? is it a direct sequel to most wanted? or is is one of those...'made for PSP' then released on PS2 games? or is it one of those little games, like GT4 had prologue? or is it a full, new game? im just a little confused about how they brought it out so fast, and i havent heard much about it.

seems like its a sequel to NFSMW, but the background story is what took place before he ended up in rockport/NSFMW, and dealing the consequences/mystery of whatever happened then now that he is back.

its "not a sequel" to nfsmw because the story is completely seperate from nfsmw. the story is, before and after, not including. you left, blah blah, your back and dealing with what happened before you left. nothing carries over except cross, who is a bounty hunter now it would seem? so not even that.
in the mind of the company, you can play the game and get everything about the story without ever hearing of nfsmw. so its not a sequel.
in the mind of the player, who has played nfsmw, yeah, its a sequel, cause you know where hes coming from entering the game, even though its irrelevant... its still the complete story.

I'd say it is a sequel, seeing as Darius says to your character: " Take my car and get out of here ". The car turning out to be the BMW that you work to get back from Razor Callahan, then back to Carbon, you total it when trying to escape from Cross who is a Bounty Hunter, and he does say " Guess who's back ".
